You will not be pricing longshot plan-room bids against ten other contractors. Most of the work here comes from repeat customers, referrals and relationships built over more than 60 years.

You will cover a large South Texas territory, with work extending toward the Rio Grande Valley and north toward the southern Houston and East Texas area. Education, government, industrial, healthcare and general commercial.

This branch is a substantial business in its own right. Roughly $25M-$30M in revenue, 55-60 roofing employees, plus project managers, estimating and office support. You price it, your own crews build it.

The work is varied. Commercial reroof, new construction, service, maintenance and repair, across TPO, PVC, EPDM, modified bitumen, built-up and sheet metal.

The wider business is now private equity-backed and entering a deliberate growth phase: more headcount, a bigger W-2 workforce, improved benefits and modernized systems. The branch keeps its local leadership and family-business feel.

You report to the Vice President of Operations. Short lines, quick decisions, no layers between you and the people who own the numbers.

Your Role

• Review project plans, specifications and bid documents to pin down scope

• Run detailed quantity takeoffs for roofing materials and labor

• Build cost estimates and proposals for new construction, reroof and service projects

• Source and solicit competitive pricing from subcontractors and material suppliers

• Walk jobs and sites to assess conditions before you commit a number

• Work with project managers, foremen and operations to validate bid strategy and constructability

• Attend pre-bid meetings and bid reviews, and provide the technical input

• Keep historical pricing, labor productivity and vendor quotes accurate, and flag the risk factors that cost you bids

This is a long-established commercial roofing contractor operating across Central and South Texas. Founded in 1963 and historically family-run, it generates approximately $70M in revenue with 225+ employees across three branches, and is now backed by private equity.

Each branch is locally led and operationally autonomous, with finance and payroll centralized through the Austin office. The Corpus Christi branch alone runs approximately $25M-$30M in revenue, and expansion further south is under consideration as that market develops.

The company works across commercial reroofing, new construction, service, maintenance and repair, serving education, government, industrial, healthcare and general commercial markets. Growth has come primarily through repeat business, referrals and long-standing customer relationships. The current phase is about strengthening professional infrastructure and investing in people, while preserving the local culture that has carried the business for more than 60 years.

Key Requirements

• 5+ years estimating commercial roofing, or a strong adjacent construction estimating background

• Working knowledge of TPO, PVC, EPDM, modified bitumen, built-up and sheet metal systems

• Confident reading construction drawings and specifications

• Experience with estimating software platforms

• Able to run multiple bids at once and hit tight deadlines

• Valid driver's license and willing to travel locally for job site assessments
