Assistant Superintendent – Commercial Roofing

Brooklyn Park, MN

$80,000 – $95,000

You've Been Running the Crew. Nobody's Made You a Superintendent Yet.

This role exists to change that. The stated goal is to develop you into a full Superintendent.

You'd start alongside an experienced Superintendent and the PM team, then take over more of the daily field operation as you prove it.

Single-ply low-slope — TPO, EPDM, PVC — across commercial, industrial, and multi-family work in Minnesota. New construction, reroof, repairs.

Safety is yours to enforce, including the authority to stop work when a site isn't right.

What You Get

  • Company vehicle
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k)
  • PTO plus paid holidays
  • A defined development path to full Superintendent
  • Mentoring from an experienced Superintendent and Project Managers
  • Local Minnesota work — daily site travel, home at night

Opportunity Overview

This is a full-service commercial roofing and exterior contractor with decades of trading history, working direct with building owners, property managers, and general contractors across the Minnesota market. Crews are self-performed in-house and supplemented with subcontractors.

The work is commercial low-slope single-ply — TPO, EPDM, and PVC — across new construction, reroofing, and repair, on commercial, industrial, and multi-family buildings.

Safety runs to OSHA standards and company policy, with fall protection and daily site oversight built into how projects are run. Field leadership works closely with Project Managers on scheduling, scope, and problem-solving, and the business promotes from within — this seat is structured as the route into a full Superintendent role.

Your Role

  • Support and progressively lead crews and subcontractors on single-ply low-slope projects
  • Hold a daily jobsite presence covering safety, quality, production, and progress
  • Enforce OSHA and company safety standards, including fall protection — and stop work when a site isn't safe
  • Coordinate labor, materials, equipment, and deliveries to keep projects on schedule
  • Run quality inspections against manufacturer specs and project documents
  • Train and mentor crew members, and give clear direction in the field
  • Support final inspections, punch lists, and closeout

Key Requirements

  • 3–5+ years hands-on commercial roofing, with solid low-slope single-ply knowledge (TPO, EPDM, PVC preferred)
  • Prior experience as a Foreman, Lead, or similar crew leadership role
  • Strong grasp of jobsite safety including fall protection — OSHA 10 required, OSHA 30 preferred or obtainable quickly
  • Able to read plans, specifications, and manufacturer details
  • Valid driver's license and clean record, with daily travel across the Minnesota market
  • Spanish alongside English is a real advantage for crew communication
